The Pride of the Universe

  • The Pride of the Universe” is an expression of respect used for the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. It is a phrase that describes the noble Prophet, who is known with titles such as “the Essence of the Universe”, “the Pride of All Being”, “the Master of the Universe”, “the Pride of Humanity” and “the Infinite Light”, and it means “the person of whom the entire universe is proud.”
  • “The Prophets were sent to revive the dead hearts. When our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to this world, the hearts of many people, including the great statures, like the Honorable Umar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, were dead. These dead people were attained their ideal state and resurrected in the luminous atmosphere of our noble Prophet, the Pride of the Universe. Their blunt subtle senses were developed in such a way that a person like the Honorable Umar reached the level to take his place next to the Trustworthy Archangel Gabriel in a short time. The Son of Khattab (Umar), who was wrestling with camels, could no longer step on ants.”1)
  • “As for our love for God, may He be glorified and exalted, and the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, it starts with willpower. When it becomes spiritual knowledge, willpower disappears. For example, we know our noble Prophet, the Pride of the Universe, with his biography, books on his military campaigns, revolutions and the principles he brought to us. If he did not exist, the universe would be like an orphanage. Thanks to the light he has emitted, everywhere is filled with festivity. We bow down and love the Messenger of God before his gifts, the life-saving principles, and exemplary life. After this point, it is not a matter of choice, a period of love and practicing begins, and we are involuntarily connected to the Prince of Prophets.”2)
  • “What does he want, this pride of humanity, this unique being and glory of all beings, who stands for prayer with all eminent people behind him and with hands upraised? He is seeking eternal happiness, eternal life, a meeting with God, and Paradise. He wants all of these through the Divine Names, which display their beauty and operations in the mirrors of beings. Even one of his prayers, were it not for such innumerable causes as Mercy, Grace, Wisdom, and Justice fulfilling that request, would be enough to build Paradise, which is as easy for Divine Power as creating spring.”3)
  • “Since many truths testify to that person’s truthfulness, he must be the source of humanity’s honor and the world’s pride. Therefore he is worthy of being called ‘the pride of the world’ and ‘the glory of humanity.’” Moreover the Qur’an, the All-Compassionate’s miraculous exposition and Decree that he holds in his hand, has gathered half of the old world into its magnificent spiritual domain. Together with the Messenger’s personal perfections and elevated virtues, it shows that he is the most important being in the world, and accordingly, that his words about our Creator are the most important.”4)
